Landing strip- done

After gifting our armoire to friends who are expecting in a couple weeks, we finally finished making a great landing strip at the entry way. As per Apartment Therapy's recommendation, there's a spot for mail, keys and hooks for bags (our shoes/scarves live in the lobby landing strip).

Cottage living-Korea style

This house is built with traditional Korean techniques. I love the wood and the calm feeling it makes. The floors are heated in the winter and during the summer the windows open up. We met the owner of this house, an elegant woman in her 60's who seemed very worldy and wise. Very inspiring.
 The view over Seoul

One of my favorite things about these houses are the serene private spaces inside. I think we could use a little bit of this in New York.
 Incredible construction

This room opens up during the summer.

Kitchen Inspiration from Seoul

It's no secret that I'm a bit obsessed with blackboard paint. I've been in Seoul for the past 2 weeks for work, and I came across this awesome kitchen at 8-Steps restaurant. My friend, Judie, took me here for delicious Italian food. This kitchen was part of a show kitchen, where you could eat at the counter and watch the chef cook.

Love the idea of the high shelf, with glasses.

Also, I think the stacked bookshelf for cookbooks is genius.
