Outdoor lounge

I'm starting to plan our outdoor living space... but on a budget. I found this cute idea on Aparment therapy for using palettes to build a lounge area.

I also like the idea of having a wooden wall behind with a place to hang stuff
And lastly, a fire pit to keep us warm in the autumn and spring

Thank you Irene

Thanks to Irene, we spend some serious quality time in our apt this weekend and I finally put up the hooks and shelf in my closet. Originally, I was hoping my shoes would be able to hang from the shelf, but it didn't quite work out that way. Oh well, at least I now have a nice place to hang my bags, and realize that I am such a creature of habit. All my bags look the same!

I've been scouring craigslist, using a service called HeyCraig. It's a pretty cool website, where you just give them your email address, where you live and what you're looking for, and they send you appropriate links. After a week of looking, I found an Eames replica chair and ottoman for a deal! The living room is coming together as we originally planned.

Boho yard

Though I could never imagine Jacob wearing a linen shirt (thank god!) I love the relaxed boho chic of this yard dining area.

Wood walling

I'm really loving wood walls... wondering how I can do it at home.

Outdoor lounge

Now that the apartment is nearly finished, I'd like to tackle the back yard. At first I wanted to put a farm table and chairs out there, but I'm beginning to feel like having a comfy place to lounge might be more used. Louge chairs seem to cost a fortune, so I'm considering building something blocky and then sewing pillows and a futon mattress to sit on....

This chair is inspirational for the color, but I'd like the seat to be deeper and more cozy...

And I love the idea of having these white animal heads on the fence..
